Walking Water Experiment - Rainbow Walking Water - Science Fair Project Ideas

How to make walking water experiment for a science fair project. We made a rainbow walking water experiment today to show families a fun and easy kids science experiment to do at home! Walking Water is super easy and a great way to show kids how primary colors work to make new colors.

Supplies you need to make Walking Water Science Experiment:
- Paper Towels
- Cups (we suggest clear cups)
- Food Coloring (Primary Colors - Red, Yellow, Blue)
- Scissors to cut paper towels

How to do the walking water science experiment:
- Fill every other cup with water to about 3/4 of the way full.
- Place food coloring in the cups With Water. You can try different patterns but we went with ROY-G-BV to show the Rainbow.
- Measure the Paper Towels to make sure they touch the bottom of each cup and hang just over the top of the cups.
- Place paper towels over the edge of the cup with one end in a water colored cup and one end in a cup with no water.
- Wait and watch the magic happen.
