A 2016 LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE SEVERN VALLEY RAILWAY

On April 16th and 17th it was open house once again at the Severn Valley Railway. This year I visited Bridgnorth Signal Box before wandering round the Loco Works and Depot. There were a number of engines under renovation and repair including Hagley Hall, Standard 4 No. 75069 and Stanier Class 5 Mogul No. 42968. This year I also took a look in the machine shop. Progressing nicely in the yard is new build Standard 2-6-2T No. 82045 and I was pleased to accept an invitation to take a view from the cab.
A visit to Eardington Halt uncovered two little known 'gems' both of which feature here. Then it was down to Bewdley to film progress on 2-6-2T No. 4150 and also to look inside the superb restoration of a 1928 Collett corridor composite coach.
At Kidderminster I visited the Museum and took a few shots of the two model railways on display before returning north.
As in last year's video we also see some action from the lineside.
Once again my thanks to all at the SVR for their kind co-operation in making it a fascinating and enjoyable two days.
