Hello there! Welcome to my first cosplay prop tutorial. I talk through the process of how I made this prop in detail. If you are just starting out with cosplay and to learn how to make a prop this is a great video for you to get an idea of how to make one. I talk a lot, so feel free to mute the video at any point and just follow along with what I do.

In total the sword comes out to about 22 inches at least mine did, yours may be a bit longer or shorter depending on handle length. This prop was surprisingly smaller that I thought it would be, but took about 9 hours in total to make, plus dry time.

A few time points to keep note of 1:20 you will see the dimensions of the blade portion, 7:00 you will see the dimensions for the guard. The handle length comes out to about 6 inches a little longer I cut the original length in the video to my preferred size based on the persons hand size I made this for.

Cardboard sheets
Craft knife / box cutter
Elmers glue and Gorilla Wood glue
Black & silver spray paint
Wooden dowel (optional for handle support I used a chop stick)
Brown string
Gold, black, silver acrylic paint
Oil pastel or chalk for sketch transfer
