I recognise that bladed and sharply pointed hand-tools, ie. saws etc. are important in demonstrating Bushcraft, Survival Skills in a safe designated area or when reviewing or comparing which is best suited for the task and why, whether 'in the field' or online.
I promote the safe use of knives used as a tool reiterating UK Law.
Code of Conduct:
Always read the manufacturers instructions & guidelines before using any tool.
It is always 'good practice', to use SOP's - 'Safe Operating Procedures' when using any tool. Please practice, safe & responsible knife/tool ownership, in accordance with any local laws.
Always try to be mindful - a good knife user needs to be proactive, polite and dignified when using a knife in view of others. Avoid un-necessary flourishing movements or anything that might be mis-perceived as brandishing or be seen in a threating manner.
I hold no responsibility from injuries that have occurred as a result of using this resource. Whenever a Knife/Saw/Tool is to be used in an activity, it is good practice to risk assess, understand the nature of the material being cut etc. and use common sense to help prevent injury or loss of life.
In case of accidents, always ensure you have a First Aid kit on your person or in a designated area - vehicle, campsite etc. and that you know how to use it!
Law:
UK knife law allows you to carry non-locking pocket knives with a blade length up to 3 inches (7.62 cm) without any need for a valid reason.
