The product of the O gauge group from the Weymouth Model Railway Association, "Connaught Road" has been constructed over the last quarter of a century, with plans being considered for more.

The layout was developed through the groups' shared desire to run a variety of trains in a scenic setting. To this end, the railway is loosely modelled on a through station somewhere in the south or west London suburbs, set in the 1930s - 1960s; though the timeframe is taken with a pinch of salt. Construction of the large O gauge model railway began in the late 1990's. 25 years later, there is still room for development, with consideration being given to possible extensions of both the goods yard and locomotive shed areas.

"Connaught Road" is captured here during its attendance of the South Coast Model Railway Club Exhibition in New Milton, with a variety of locomotives in action.

Footnote: A massive thank you must be given to the Weymouth MRA for their assisstance in making this video.

All footage filmed on Sunday the 30th of July 2023.
