AIWA AD-R30 Cassette Deck Belt Replacement

This video captures the process used to remove the transport mechanism and replace the 4 belts.
Like most vintage decks the original belts had decomposed and turned to a sticky goo and required extensive cleanup. (rubbing alcohol and a ton of Q-tips did the job). Once the unit was cleaned up I used some temporary belts to make sure the unit was operational before ordering the final belt set.
In addition to a lot of cleanup I vinyl wrapped the cover, put new damping fluid on the door mechanism, lubricated the motor shaft, cleaned and demagnetized the heads, and adjusted the motor speed.
