Polar bears, not flags, await visitors at the world's northernmost airport on the Svalbard Islands. Longyearbyen world's northernmost town, presents Borders on Budgets a new travel experience with budget challenges: the Svalbard Islands in Norway's High Arctic.

At 78°N, life in this remote village has its unique features and qualities including the airport. It's here where the polar bear is dominant while protecting the fragile Arctic environment is critical.

Tired, and still with congestion, Matt conjures up the energy to prepare his first impressions as he wanders around the tiny Svalbard Airport and parking lot looking for clues of how this land is different.

Oh yeah, filming is occurring at 2 a.m.. This is, after all, Norway Land of the Midnight Sun where it is 24 hours of daylight in the summer.
