Hiking 95 miles on the Choquequirao Trek to Machu Picchu in Peru (inspired by Kraig Adams)

Описание к видео Hiking 95 miles on the Choquequirao Trek to Machu Picchu in Peru (inspired by Kraig Adams)

This is the story of our 7 day adventure through the Peruvian wilderness. On the legendary Choquequirao Trek, all the way to the Inca ruin Machu Picchu. The hike was not for the faint-hearted, but you were rewarded with great views and an experience not to be forgotten. I can absolutely recommend.

Sorry I messed up the information about the elevation gain (you can always cut it in half, then it should be right).

Day 1: Cachora (with bus from Cusco about 6-7 hrs, then again a bus at the junction 1 hr.) - Santa Rosa Baja
Day 2: Santa Rosa - Choquequirao - Pinchaunuyoc
Day 3: Pinchaunuyoc - Maizal - Yanama
Day 4: Yanama - Collpapampa
Day 5: Collpapampa - Llactapata Lodge
Day 6: Llactapata - Hidroelectrica - Aguas Calientes
Day 7: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes - Hidroelectrica (from there with Bus direct to Cusco about 8-10 hrs)

00:00 Intro
01:50 Cusco & the sacred valley
03:14 Day 1: Cachora to Santa Rosa
05:34 Day 2: Choquequirao
09:18 Day 3: Maizal & Yanama
12 51 Day 4: to Collpapampa
14:44 Day 5: to Llactapata Lodge
17:36 Day 6: to Aguas Calientes
18:38 Day 7: Machu Picchu

Sleeping & Food:
There are small family houses with a garden where you can put up your tent and they can cook for you till Marampata. And from Yanama all the way to Llactapata.
From Marampata to Yanama the only possibity is in Maizal, but there's often nobody there. Important to bring food, because there's nothing on the way. You are here really off the civilization.
From Yanama there's once a day a small bus which takes the locals to Santa Teresa (from there you can catch a bus to Hidroelectrica) if you're legs give up.

A really good website with lot's of good information:
