Multiple References to the same Endnote or Footnote

This recording is in response to a client request to be able to reference the same endnote multiple times in one document. She wanted to be able to show the same endnote reference number multiple times in one document, but only have the endnote appear one time in the list of endnotes. She also wanted all reference numbers for the endnote to link to the actual end note.

The first part of this tutorial shows how to do that using hyperlinks and bookmarks, and discusses the benefits and limitations. How to create duplicate endnotes without showing the endnote twice. Toward the end we show how to do it using a cross reference to the endnote reference number. That method has benefits not found in the bookmark hyperlink method, but it links to the endnote reference number, not the endnote text.,

These methods will work for endnotes or footnotes, but is more practical for endnotes since footnotes appear at the bottom of every page and your footnote reference could move to a different page if you add or remove text.
