It may surprise many that the call to prayer (Adhān) is not just a reminder for Muslims — it is also something that makes Shayṭān flee in panic!

📖 Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported that Rasulullah ﷺ said:
.
“When the Adhān is proclaimed, Shayṭān takes to his heels and passes wind with noise during his flight so that he may not hear the Adhān. When the call is completed he comes back, and again takes to his heels when the Iqāmah is pronounced, and after its completion he returns again to distract the worshipper by whispering into his heart.”
.
(Sahīh al-Bukhārī 608, Sahīh Muslim 389)
.
This shows us how powerful the Adhān is — it literally pushes away Shayṭān, protecting our hearts from his whispers. 🕋

👶 Why Give Adhān in a Newborn’s Ear?
From the time of birth, Islam teaches us to protect children from Shayṭān. It is Sunnah to recite the Adhān in the right ear of the newborn, just as Rasulullah ﷺ did for his grandson Hasan رضي الله عنه.

📌 Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله explains:
“The wisdom behind Adhān in the newborn’s ear is so that the first words the child hears are the words of Tawḥīd (Lā ilāha illa Allāh) and the greatness of Allāh, and so that Shayṭān is pushed away from him.”
.
Thus, even from the very first moment of life, Islam gives protection against evil influences. 🌙

✨ Reminder: Whenever you feel heaviness in prayer or whispers of Shayṭān, listen to the Adhān with focus, and know that it is a shield against him.
