In this short, I discuss some of the categories of tropes used by white supermacists in media when creating or green lighting for other blacks to create stories for black folks in media.

While I recognize that we are all different and it’s important to show case how different we show up and exist, it’s important for us to also be aware of the tropes that show up when our stories are being told and how they are used in disrespect.This reel will help those who do not understand how it shows up to think about the classifications on the different tropes we tend to see in media.

It’s important that we understand that not all tropes that show up are necessarily bad but the way they are used to influence and tell our stories is what is problem.
