SYND 11 10 76 NATIONAL AFRICAN LEADER NKOMO attends rally INTERVIEW

(10 Oct 1976) Black Rhodesian Nationalist Leader Joshua Nkomo, speaking to a vast crowd of fellow black Rhodesians in Bulawayo, on Sunday (10 October), has announced the postponement of the Geneva conference. Great Britain, from whom Rhodesia unilaterally declared independence in 1965, had called the conference and was to sponsor the formal opening in Geneva on 25 October. The conference was to discuss the transfer of power to a government elected by the majority, the black Rhodesians, most of whom have hitherto been disenfranchised by the present white regime.
