Amazon Basics 8-Sheet High-Security Micro-Cut Shredder with Pullout Basket

Looking at the Amazon Basics (essentially a rebrand) 8-sheet micro cut shredder that is upgrading my older Aurora 8-sheet strip cut shredder. As its capacity implies it will handle a maximum of eight sheets of standard 20lb paper and a sizeable pullout basket to hold the shavings in. It has a dedicated slot for shredding CDs (strip cut only) and the four-position switch lets it operate in manual reverse, off, auto and manual forward. It comes provided with optional caster wheels to assist in moving the shredder about and some safety lockouts:

Bin Full- If the waste bin becomes full of shavings it will illuminate and lock the shredder from operating until the bin is emptied.

Drawer Open- Whenever the drawer is open this light illuminates and will lockout the shredder from operating.

Overload- If the shredder is fed too much paper at once the unit will stop and wait to be turned off and on again before resuming.

Overheat- If the unit is operated for a long duty cycle there's potential to overheat the motor. In that case the unit will stop and will require time to cool down before it can be used again.

Power On- This light illuminates whenever a position other than off is selected and no other conditions are active.
