The Tai Chi Ball Course
1. Warming Up and Starting Exercises Tai Chi Ball
Pressure side to side feel the Chi (vary with pressure) - Stand like a Tree with the Tai Chi Ball: wide stance
2. The 18 ways of the Tai Chi Ball
Static Exercises (most are on the same spot)
1 The Rolling Ball: Roll the Ball forward and backward vary with speed
2 Round Ball Let the ball go round horizontally (spiral) from left to right and right to left
3 Changing Ball: Wide stance, bring ball next to hip change then other hip 4 Spinning Ball: Breath in One Leg Up spin ball between hands, as you breath out L & R
5 Warrior presents Golden Ball to Emperor: Ball on one hand inside to outside L & R
6 Air Ball: Wide Stance, throw ball up, breath in as ball is in the air, catch, sink breath out. Advanced Exercises (most are on the same spot but with steps)
7 Heaven: Hold Ball in two hands bring ball up to heaven and down, roll then other hand
8 Ball Pu Bu - Gongbu: Bring ball side to side, change Gongbu to one hand then two and shift.
9 Breathing Ball: Step out Mabu, roll ball on arms to you, breath in, step back breath out.
10 Yin Yang: hold ball, step out throw ball catch with turned hand, change & other side
11 Balanced Ball: Breath in Ball one hand roll across chest to other hand and breath out
12 The Ball as Teacup: Step out to wide stance spiral the ball forwards and backward Ball Tai Chi walking Exercises in Motion (Do these exercises forward and backwards)
13 Ball: Walk forward, bring ball forward, change ball, other leg forward also backwards
14 Pu Bu Gong Bu: Pu Bu on turned hand, Gong Bu on straight hand step then other hand
15 Ball Wave: Turn ball between 2 hands towards chest 3 times, then throw catch step
16 Proud: Ball on one hand Step forward, other leg to first leg, ball on other hand Gongbu
17 Ball Walk: Two hands present on front hand high, counter leg goes up, walk change
18 X Step: turn present the ball step out sideways, shift ball then change 3.
3. Pakua – Bagua Circle Walking with the Tai Chi Ball
Hold the ball between 2 hands and walk a circle with the Ball on the inside. Walk the circle in one way, change and use an equal number of steps to walk the circle the other way around. For example, 7 steps for the whole circle. 4.
4. Tai Chi Ball 8 Form Learn the short Tai Chi Ball 8 Form. .
5. The Dance of the Tai Chi Ball Move freely with specific moves of the Tai Chi Ball, anything goes. Move and on do not stop in your movements, but flow on. At least 2 minutes!
6. Do any existing Tai Chi Chuan form you know with the Tai Chi Ball
7. Create an own form of 4 movements and try any Tai Chi Chuan form with the Tai Chi Ball.
8. Tai Chi Ball Partner Exercises Pressure Exercise: Two persons two hands on the ball keep the pressure and focus on your chi out through the ball and the person on the other side. First static and then walking one hand and two hands. Pushing Hands Exercise: Parallel Step one hand on the ball, other on the elbow make circles the one who gets the ball against the chest the person who initiated that receives a point.
9. Tai Chi Ball Self-defense (The original balls were made of wood or iron and are alsona weapon) Use the Ball as a weapon, use it as a weapon to fight and to apply pressure and to control your opponent when you are attacked.
