An Austria-based researcher named Antonio Osuna-Mascaró recently conducted a series of experiments on a breed of bird called Goffin’s cockatoos. They soon found out that the species is capable of flexible tool set transport. That means Goffin’s cockatoos can recognize when they need to use multiple tools to solve a complex problem, even adjusting which tools they use, depending on the situation. Use of tool sets is one of the most advanced forms of animal technology. Prior to the study, it had only been demonstrated in humans and chimpanzees. Watch the video to see these clever cockatoos in action!
