The National Physical Therapy Examination is your last step in becoming a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. You want to make sure you have the best preparation possible. The NPTE is administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. This applies to candidates who attend U.S. or international physical therapy education programs.

The NPTE consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. There are five sections of 50 questions each. There are 40 scored questions and 10 experimental questions. The experimental questions are mixed in for each section and are not identified.
