This semester, we are releasing a series of videos, produced from our dorms, apartments, and homes, celebrating our graduating seniors! Recorded, filmed, mixed, and edited all on our own, we hope you enjoy these as much you love seeing us live. We hope to safely see you all at our shows again soon, but until then make sure to watch along!

Our first of two sendoffs on this video is Jillian Morley! She joined NTS in Spring 2018 and since served as AMD for one semester and Music Director for the past four semesters. During her time as MD, Jillian directed us to our first ICCA appearance, guided the recording and release of our latest single “Electric Love”, led us to our second place overall placement in the ICCA Central Region this year, and much more. In addition to her outstanding direction, she was known for her smooth and riveting solos, including “Dangerously” (on our EP), a starring role in our ICCA video “Ribs”, and “Weathered Youth”, which she solos in this video!

A meticulous musician and a dedicated leader, Jillian did so so much to craft the sound and culture of NTS. She devoted an incredible amount of effort both in and out of rehearsals to keep our group fun and successful, especially while navigating through the pandemic which kept our music completely virtual for over a year. We thank her and owe her so much for all of this, and we will greatly miss her friendly vibes, self-deprecating humor, and charming awkwardness next year. In addition to her regular coursework, Jillian conducted renowned research and worked on her honors thesis all while leading the way for our group. She graduated with a BA in both Sociology and Anthropology and will be pursuing an MPA in Social Policy at Cornell University starting this Fall! Jillian, we love you, we’ll miss you, and we hope that life doesn’t give you any lemons along the way.

The next senior sendoff goes to Rebecca Colao! She joined the first NTS newbie class in Fall 2017 and served in many elected and unelected positions along the way, including AMD, Music Director, Graphic Designer, Community Service Coordinator, and head of Cheese Board. Rebecca directed us through the recording and release of our debut EP, guided us to perform our first-ever New York State tour, created the amazing album art and posters for all of our music snd shows, and helped to plan our first ever Community Service Tour. Rebecca crafted many of our favorite arrangements, including “Electric Love”, “Soldier”, “Dangerously”, and many more. Rebecca featured as a soloist, co-arranger, and video editor for our ICCA 2021 submission, for which she was awarded Outstanding Arrangement AND Outstanding Videography in the Quarterfinals en route to our 2nd place finish in the Central region.

Over her four years in the group, Rebecca put so much care into fostering a welcoming environment for everyone. Between creating paper plates by hand each semester, organizing hangouts on and off-campus, cutting out fake used car lot signs, and scheming about conqueror squirrels, she did countless things to create a fun and silly environment in which everyone is encouraged to be authentic. We will greatly miss her random dancing, contagious laugh, and radiant personality, and we thank her all for making Note to Self look great, sound awesome, and feel so enjoyable to be a part of. She graduated with a BA in both French and Graphic Design, and we’re excited for her to showcase her creativity in the future! Rebecca, we will miss you, we love you, and thank you. We hope you enjoy Rebecca's feature in this song!
