Devotion: What's in a Name?

God's name, or the name of Jesus Christ, is not just a label. It reflects God's character and essence. Understanding this gives us insight into the commandment not to "take the Lord's name in vain," and why we pray "hallowed be Thy name." Praying in Jesus' name is asking for Jesus to act according to who he is, and it is a pledge to live our lives the same way.
