While charitable love may be present for a period of time, it often fades away and needs to be redirected elsewhere. When assessing material love, we need to ask ourselves if it serves us on the material plane - does it help meet our needs for food, clothing, shelter? Does it assist with paying bills or acquiring things we require or desire?

In today's relationships, we tend not to prioritize material usefulness as much as before. However, understanding its significance allows us to make informed choices about the kind of relationships we want.
