The 40% trigger works like Siegfried/any other supplemental damage. As long as the initial hit does 0 damage, supplemental damage won't be applied. Guard, Fediel S1, Lich S1 and Light cut (either Light Carbuncle or Anubis) combined allow for a safe passing of the 40% trigger without the need for alex.
Gameplay kinda bad ty.
