Join us on a studio tour of Truly Truly, a design studio based just outside Rotterdam in Dordrecht. In working on things, we visit creatives in their workshops, ateliers, or offices to understand how they shape their surroundings—and how their surroundings shape them in return.

Studio Truly Truly is already a familiar name in the furniture industry. They design fabrics for Kvadrat, provide art direction for the furniture company Leolux, and made an international impression with their 2019 installation of Das Haus at the Cologne furniture fair.

Their style is playful and warm, yet contemporary—defined by a comfortable and highly functional aesthetic. Founded and run by the Australian-born couple Joel and Kate Booy, Truly Truly masterfully blend materials with a research-driven design approach that, at its best, exudes a sense of modern romance.

We visited them in February 2025 at their studio: a converted historic townhouse that once housed a bar, now transformed into a modular, functional, yet cozy workspace.
