The Turkmens of Afghanistan are a group of Turkic descendants who live mostly in the north, northwest, and precisely in five provinces and 20 districts of Afghanistan. Turkmens are Muslims and follow the Sunni Hanafi religion. Although this nation has passed through countless empires, they were mainly nomads in Central Asia until the beginning of the 20th century. After that, over time, they settled in villages and towns. Those who live in Afghanistan have still preserved their original culture and language.
