James Cleveland Moore composed the song "Where We'll Never Grow Old" in 1914 as a heartfelt tribute to his elderly parents. The motivation behind James Moore's decision to write this song stemmed from witnessing his father's diminishing vocal abilities caused by advancing years, realizing that the opportunity to hear him sing would soon be lost forever.

The song is based on Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away"
