FLETT FROM FLOTTA is a 2-part 4-4 march composed by the renowned Pipe Major Donald MacLeod and named for William Flett, a piper from the island of Flotta in Orkney, Scotland and a member of the Seaforth Highlanders, along with MacLeod. Some say the tune it was inspired by Flett's unique walking gait. Others believe that the tune recalls a train journey where Flett and MacLeod were tasked to guard the Seaforth's regimental silver.
