Bad Creek to Hilliard Falls with spur trail to Lower Whitewater Falls Overlook - Waterfall Hike

Another day on the Foothills Trail! This time we started at the Bad Creek Parking lot and hiked to the Foothills Trail. We stayed on the Foothills Trail until the spur trail to Hilliard Falls. This was a tough hike to the falls. It was a very humid day but on top of that they yellow jackets were out in full force! Everyone in our group got stung multiple times - somehow I was the only sole survivor without a sting (which I am beyond grateful because I started breaking out into a rash after my sting 2 weeks ago).

We took a break and then headed back the way we came on the Foothills Trail until we hit the spur trail for the Lower Whitewater Falls Overlook. This 0.9 mile out and back trail goes to the overlook. I thought it was as impressive as Upper Whitewater Falls.

We retraced our steps and headed back to the Bad Creek Parking Lot. Our total milage for the day was 14 miles and our elevation gain was 2,930 feet. It was a up and down roller coaster all day!
