2023 GNCC Rd. 7 John Penton. Millfield/ Athens, OH Masters A 50+ 1+ laps Clayer- Not just a Mudder.

This is the first time I've raced here. I have never experienced mud that was so thick and sticky and slippery. I went from an ok start back to 13th in the first minute or so because the front end slid for about 15 ft. before it tucked. I saw 8th (out of 13) on the scoreboard at the end of the first lap. I believe I moved up to 6th about 3 minutes till the end but my bike had been overheating and just died on me, and wouldn't restart. Congrats to rider #637 for taking back that position and finishing 6th.
If nothing else, I gained some very important muddy, rutty conditions experience and improvement - which I need to be better at.
I also learned at this round that the AMA has banned anything attached to the outside of your helmet - like a camera ! So, I'll have to look at an under-the-visor or chest mount for any other AMA sanctioned events.
