How to ink a drawing ■ Tracing Masterpieces

This inking tutorial shows how to ink a drawing from beginning to end. I use faber-castell artist inking pens to draw over a pencil sketch. There are various techniques you can use to shade and create values with the ink. To get different values, you must combine the black ink and white canvas in a pattern across space- this will give the illusion that there are intermediary values and shading. I demonstrate how to create these gradients using lines by positioning them next to each other as well as crossing them, but you can also use other patterns and shapes.
