Newfoundland Ferry 2024 | 16 Hour Crossing on a Brand New Ship

Our Newfoundland adventures are winding up and we embark on the 16 hour ferry crossing back to Nova Scotia. We arrived in Newfoundland on the 7 hour ferry crossing, that arrives and leaves from the other side of the island. We decided when planning this trip that we wanted to experience both ferry crossings and that would also save us driving back across the island to the same ferry terminal.
We boarded the brand new ship in the Maritime Atlantic fleet and buoy oh by, is this a nice new ship. It may not be as dazzling as the cruise lines these days, but for a ferry, this ship exceeds expectations! The outdoor sun deck is covered in comfortable seating areas and rubber matted floors. When you graba drink from the bar, they allow you to bring it up to the deck to enjoy outside while you cruise across the Atlantic. There of course are restaurants and a cafe as well. The indoor seating is plentiful, comfortable and the entire ship feels modern, open and airy.
If you are planning a trip to Newfoundland and feel daunted by the 16 hour ferry crossing, do not worry. There is plenty to do on board to keep you entertained and comfortable. It was a great voyage and a great crew, and a great end to our trip as we say so long for now to Newfoundland! Cheers! 🥂
