Spiral Dynamics often satisfies someone's intellectually curiosity for a life time. As those of us who have indeed studied this model for many years, we seek to find ways to simplify it's inherent complexity and make is accessible to more people without losing the brilliance of insights the theory offers. I, personally, have found it to be a formidable intention! This 20 minute video production titled Beautiful Noise- Spiral Dynamics: A View of Stratified Democracy is one of my contributions.

Based on a lecture given by Don Beck in Washington DC in December of 2003, woven in between my own narrative and a popular song, Beautiful Noise, we hope to instill a context, a way of thinking and the "vmeme" codes that will help us to begin to solve the problems facing humanity at this time in our history. In this video, we layout the basic framework of Spiral Dynamics. By understanding human nature and our capacity to deal with complex environments, Spiral Dynamics points to a major shift toward what works in the spectrum of diverse human cultures found around the globe. Particular to politics is the axiom "the end of one size fits all of us."

Don Beck coined the term, Stratified Democracy based on his ideas about designing our governing systems to match and fit the kinds of people whom can effectively operate in those systems. Allowing for the reality of change, these structures must also flex and flow as people who develop new capacities shift up while others temporarily downshift into earlier, less complex systems in order to deal with problems found in their environments.
