(5 Oct 2016) FAITH HILL, TIM MCGRAW EMOTIONAL OVER WALK OF FAME STARS
Country music stars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw both got a little choked up after receiving stars on the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee.
The couple's names were added to the sidewalk during a ceremony Wednesday (5 OCT. 2016) alongside such legends as Dolly Parton. Reba McEntire introduced the two stars during the ceremony.
The two announced last night that they are going back on tour next year together, the first time they have toured together since their hit Soul2Soul II tour that wrapped in 2007.
"The key to being happy on the road is to have an incredible team around you, around us," Hill said after the ceremony.
"That understands that this is a team effort. Not to use your… throwing part about sports and football, but I think if you would ask any player what is the key to a successful season, successful team, winning the Superbowl, it's the team around us. That's what makes touring bearable for us. We're two different artists."
She said it was important to make every show count for the fans.
"It's hard to pay for a ticket. That's not lost on us, you know. We want every fan to feel like it's the first time they have seen us, even if it is the 50th time. Well for you… I haven't been out there that much," she told her husband.
Hill said part of the reason she decided to tour again after 10 years was because their daughters were growing up and moving out.
"That's one of the reasons," Hill said. "Having two kids in college. Audrey started her first year of high school and we just have the right team together. It takes a village. It takes a village to raise children in a community. Every teacher knows it.
Every family knows it. Every family knows it from pre-K to 12 to college. It takes a village to put a massive tour on the road. But when you combine a family like us, two performers, children. People have always known that our family comes first. So everything has always been scheduled around our children. And that just takes so much pressure away from both of us. And it's just timing. It really is."
Ticket pre-sales begin Friday, Oct. 7 and tickets for the general public go on sale in waves starting Friday, Oct. 14.
