Ginger Rogers "Romance in Manhattan" Ginger Devastated

"Romance in Manhattan" is a charming romantic comedy that Ginger sparkles in throughout. It is a romantic comedy, yes, but also has several dramatic scenes where Ginger's character faces heart breaking circumstances, and her performances are special, and prove her abilty as a dramatic actress.
One thing that stands out in this movie is the cinematography. Unlike many of her early movies, they took the time, and Ginger is beautiful, sometimes stunning, throughout.
Francis Lederer is an illegal immigrant, broke and hungry, when Ginger comes across him and helps him out, setting him up with a job and living on her roof. As time goes by they grow obviously fond of each other. But as time goes by the struggle to survive gets tougher during the depression, and then both of the men she loves get in trouble with the law.
