LUTW partnered with Student Energy Guided Projects and the UNILA student team (Latin American Observatory of Geopolitics of Energy) to bring the first working solar energy system to the community of Alto Mishahua in the central part of the Peruvian amazon rainforest.

The community as a whole currently has no reliable source of power. Only those that can afford the high cost of gasoline for generators have electricity but only for a few hours at night before it runs out. Currently the students are taking classes in Roxana's Mom's house until the estimated completion of the school in December of 2023.

The UNILA student team (Latin American Observatory of Geopolitics of Energy) raised money for the project through many different international donors and partnered with LUTW for the installation. LUTW leveraged its extensive experience in extremely remote locations to successfully execute the project.

The system will provide power 24/7 for all devices used in the school and a starlink internet system to give the community access to the internet where otherwise there is no signal at all.
