Description of Stage 3 Performance Kit | QX80 at Austin INFINITI

At Austin INFINITI, we strive to innovate. We recognized the need from our customers for added tuning kits to maximize the performance of the INFINITI vehicles we have to offer. These tuning or performance kits increase horsepower and torque, giving the vehicle a whole new personality.

Hi, I'm Craig Isaacs and I'm the Parts Manager at Austin INFINITI. I'm gonna be talking about the Stage 3 Performance Kit that we applied to this 2017 QX80.

The QX80 comes with a naturally aspirated 5.6L V8. One of the places we felt we could get the most amount of gains from was with the air intake. So, we scoured the web and I found a company called AFE Power that makes a free-flow intake for the QX80, the Nissan Patrol, and the 2017 and up Nissan Armada.

After we installed the intake, we were looking for a little bit more power. So we went back to AFE and installed their 3 inch Catback Exhaust system.

While we were testing the exhaust, we noticed there were a few RPMs where there was a little bit of drone in the cabin. And we knew that we could eliminate that by using the XFORCE Varex™ muffler. So, after a little bit of custom exhaust work, they got the Varex™ system on there, and it's perfect.

With the intake and the exhaust installed. We knew there was only one more piece to the puzzle. The engine was breathing so much easier and we wanted to maximize all of our gains. So we turned to the premiere Nissan/INFINITI tuner in the nation, UpRev and had them develop a special tune for our QX80. Then we brought it to the track and put it to the test.

We put our customizations to the test at a track. The result confirmed an added 77 Horsepower and 67 Torque when compared to the stock model's capabilities.
