How to install (easy way – from Release)

Go to the Releases page

Download the latest .vsix file (under “Assets”)

Open VS Code

Press Ctrl+Shift+P (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+P (Mac)

Type: Extensions: Install from VSIX

Select the downloaded .vsix file

Reload VS Code when prompted

How to install (from source)

Clone the repo:
git clone https://github.com/alexajunior/baseline-re...

Open the folder in VS Code:
code baseline-refactor-assistant

Install dependencies:
npm install

Run the extension in a Dev Host:
Press F5 in VS Code

How to use

Open any JS, TS, or CSS file in your project

If you use a non‑Baseline feature (e.g., Array.prototype.flat(), CSS @container), the extension will:

Underline it in line

Add a warning in the Problems panel

Click a warning to jump to the exact line and adjust your code or add a polyfill

Tips

Keep the Problems panel open (View → Problems) to see all issues at a glance

Hover an underlined feature for quick context

Combine with your linters/formatters for the best workflow

Troubleshooting

If the VSIX install option is missing: update VS Code to the latest version

If warnings don’t show:

Make sure you’re editing a .js, .ts, or .css file

Reload the window (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+P → Developer: Reload Window)

Check that the extension is enabled (Extensions panel)

Slow npm install? Try:
npm cache clean --force
npm install
