Sign up for the merchant marine. Sign your life away for two years and see the world, do hard menial work or suffer real consequences, get abused in languages you don't comprehend and come home a very changed person. You'll probably have new scars, muscles, language skills, life experience, tattoos and venereal diseases, not to mention a very heightened sense of what you're made of. Not the spoiled child stamping his hooves over the injustices of it all, but somebody who has been hurled out of his comfort zone and lived to tell about it. Or didn't. You said you wanted an adventure.

And in the end, the most important thing to remember is this:

With attitude! Every day I try to do something I have never done before, talk to someone I have never spoken with before, learn at least 3 new things. If something makes me a little uncomfotable but isn’t really dangerous then I go for it! Travel as much as you can, preferably to places where the people look and act much differently than you do, and learn about them. Study something you are interested in every day. Look at everything that happens to you as an opportunity to learn something. Do something good for someone, and try to add a little spice to your daily routine. An adventure can be as small as trying a different creamer in your coffee or as large as going around the world with a backpack. The first step is to be open to change!.

I just read the other answers and they were hilarious. There is no secret recipe for becoming adventurous.

In your case according to me, you should first clarify what does “Adventurous” mean to you?

Basically for me “Adventurous” is moving out of my comfort zone and doing things which are not usual for me. That's the defination of Adventurous for me and I hope for others too. You should try doing tasks which you wanted to do, but due to some reasons you failed in doing it.

Being Adventurous is nothing like doing risky stuffs, stunts etc.

Being Adventurous is facing your Fear and Failures.

Overcoming them is the biggest adventure. Move out from your comfort zone.

If its like climbing mountains, doing rope climbing etc. You can do it whenever you want on a weekend.
