Rafael Nodal of Boutique Blends Cigars tells us about his first blend, the Swag Puro Dominicano.

One of the good things about making cigars is that you get to enjoy time with good friends and sometimes good drinks. I'm here with my friends at Best Cigar Prices to enjoy cigars. I'm smoking one of my Swag Puro Dominicano and having an outstanding wine as well.

The Swag Puro Dominicano was my first blend, part of my boutique blend concept. It's an amazing cigar. Not just because I make it, but it's an outstanding cigar. If you like Dominican cigars, normally the Dominican tobacco has always been known for aroma and flavor but never for a lot of strength. What we've been able to do with the Swag Puro Dominicano is put together a specific, humbly brewed blend that brings you a lot of flavor and aroma, what normally you know about Dominican cigars, but also character and strength. And that's what the Swag Puro Dominicano brings. I really love this cigar.

If you've ever seen a Cuban cigar, this is probably the only wrapper that will get closer to any Cuban cigar. It has an unbelievably oily wrapper, aged over seven years. And inside has a great, super aged blend of Dominican tobacco grown from my grower Jose Blanco in the Dominican Republic. Jose is a veteran grower and has been able to grow tobacco and age it and separate it for a long time.

When I started blending the Swag Puro Dominicano it was like a kid in a chocolate factory. All this great tobacco and what do you do with it? Well, you blend it and you make the best cigar that you can. And that's what we did with the Swag Puro Dominicano.
