This week in Microsoft Flight Simulator the newest flying boat was released. Introducing the Dornier Do-X. Produced in 1929, Claudius Dornier and his team with over 200,000 combined man hours accomplished building the largest most powerful airplane to exist at the time. Because of its scale the 7,000 horsepower produced by the 12 Curtiss Radials only succeeded at getting the Do-X to an altitude of 1,000 feet fully loaded. A true feat of German Engineering in an era of rapid technological advancement.
