In this episode I service the DR650’s starter motor which is just starting to squeal. This is a common problem with the DR650 and other Suzuki starters as Suzuki is well known for their conservative use of grease on many parts in the bike.

In this video I will show you how to remove my Safari tank, seat and side covers, how to remove the exhaust, oil lines and cam chain tensioner and the starter itself. I will show you how I service the starter and how to re-install it into the bike.
This is a fairly easy project and requires very few tools and only a bit of elbow grease and regular grease to complete.
