10-Year-Old Performs 'New Birth' on Cateen's Custom Steinway: A Composition by Cateen | Street Piano

I recently had the opportunity to play a piano at the Hiroshima Street Piano (ALPARK), a part of the UPRIGHT PIANO PROJECT by Hayato Sumino, also known as Cateen. The piano, specially tailored to Cateen's specifications, is a unique upright model from Steinway & Sons. As I briefly mentioned in my Mario video, this piano features a special modification with a felt cloth placed between the hammers and strings, giving it a distinctive, muffled sound 🎹.

In the video, I played 'New Birth', a piece composed by Cateen based on Chopin's Etude Op.10 - 1. While the original Etude is known for its grand and flamboyant style, playing 'New Birth' on this piano seemed to bring out a gentle and calm atmosphere.

As I mentioned in the video, there were parts that needed more practice. I plan to dedicate another week to practice and aim to upload a more refined performance next time 🌟.

角野隼斗UPRIGHT PIANO PROJECT企画のひろしまストリートピアノ（アルパーク）で、かてぃんさんのピアノを弾くことができました！このピアノはかてぃんさんこだわりの特別仕様のアップライトピアノで、スタインウェイ＆サンズ製です。マリオの動画でも少し触れましたが、これはハンマーと弦の間にフェルト布が設置された特殊加工のピアノで、こもった感じの音が特徴のようです🎹
このピアノで、かてぃんさんがショパンエチュードOp.10 - 1を基に作曲した「胎動」を耳コピして弾いてみました♪ この曲はショパンエチュードOp.10 - 1の特徴である華やかで壮大な雰囲気の曲なのですが、このピアノで弾いてみると、とてもやさしく落ち着いた雰囲気になっている気がします。
動画内でも触れましたが、少し練習が間に合わなかった部分もありますので、さらに１週間練習してもっと上手く弾けた演奏を次回アップしたいと思います🌟
