In Audi's growing e-tron lineup of EVs, the 2025 S6 e-tron is positioned as the performance-minded counterpart to the A6 e-tron sedan. Both are all-new models that join Audi's growing list of e-tron vehicles, which includes the Q4 e-tron SUV and SQ8 e-tron.

EV Motor and Performance
The S6 e-tron utilizes a pair of electric motors, one on each axle. Combined system output is rated at 496 horsepower, but engaging launch control allows the software to briefly increase output to a hearty 543 horsepower. Though Quattro all-wheel drive is standard, the system is biased to deliver more torque to the rear axle under most conditions to facilitate sporting behavior. The tire size is optimized with an eye towards handling, too, and the S6 features different-sized tires, front and rear. A standard adaptive air suspension adds versatility by varying ride firmness for comfort or additional handling capability. It also provides four levels of ride height. No matter the drive mode, the S6 e-tron has a somewhat sportier feel than its A6 sibling, and it's steering is better. But during our first-drive opportunity, we felt it ultimately couldn't match the fluidity of the Lucid Air.

0–60-MPH Times
Audi claims that the S6 e-tron will reach 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. That's a full 1.3 seconds quicker than what the company estimates for its rear-wheel drive A6 e-tron sibling. When we get the S6 e-tron out on our test track, we'll update that number with our instrumented test results.

Charging, and Battery Life
The EPA hasn't released an estimated driving range for the S6 e-tron yet, but Audi expects to see that come in at 324 miles per charge. An 800-volt architecture enables a maximum charge rate of 270 kilowatts on a DC fast charger, according to Audi. Under the right conditions, Audi claims that the s6 e-tron can add 192 miles of range in 10 minutes when connected to a DC charger. The S6 e-tron comes with Audi's Plug & Charge technology as standard, allowing for automatic, self-authorizing charging at Electrify America charging stations. Home charging at an 9.6 kW rate is standard, but a 22 kW AC charging option will be offered later.

Interior and Cargo
The S6 e-tron's interior hews to Audi's modern tech-laden design language. The marquee feature, however, is the panoramic glass roof that, thanks to polymer-dispersed liquid crystal technology, changes from transparent to opaque with the press of a button. Microsuede is employed extensively, and sport seats are standard. The rear liftgate opens to reveal a large cargo hold—expandable by folding the rear seatbacks—and there's a small frunk up front.
