Reducing the public health burden of food and waterborne diseases

Climate change is a 'threat multiplier' for the spread of food and waterborne infectious diseases. Professor Fouladkhah studies preventive measures for microbial pathogens and foodborne and waterborne infectious diseases in the context of climate change. He also studies novel antimicrobials and the use of elevated hydrostatic pressure as an emerging non-thermal processing intervention for commercial food processing.
