Step Three of Dialogue: Search for Solutions

We are talking about the steps in resolving conflict. We’ve now talked about the first two steps—start with respect and create a pool of shared understanding. In this lesson I’m going to talk about the third step, search for solutions.

There are really three parts to searching for solutions. First, find out what is most important to each person. Second, brainstorm solutions. Third, agree on solutions.
