We’re in 2025. Are we still asking for a dowry and giving lavish gifts at the wedding? Are we not educated enough? Do we not have jobs to support us? Do we not have friends and family to support us? Women’s shelter at the least to lay at temporarily? Do we not have a strong heart and mind to face life’s worst? Is death the answer to dowry demands, harassment and social evils?

It’s truly saddening - what Rithanya had to go through and her family’s loss. But it’s also time we don’t leave this kind of an option for our daughters, nieces and cousins. We have to empower them to fight for their life. We have to empower them to have a voice starting from a young age.

PLEASE talk to your children. They are thinking feeling beings. Let them live and let them succeed in life. Help them find who they are and support them.

Let our eyes open. No more dowry deaths.
