Have you ever been curious about what Shakespeare wrote outside of "Hamlet", "Romeo and Juliet" and the sonnets? Maybe you've already read all the tragedies and want something of a similar vein? Or perhaps you've just binge-watched some good Wars of the Roses costume drama and want to see where the screenwriters got all that juicy court gossip from?
Look no further than the history plays! They tend to come last on people's Shakespeare reading lists but are every bit as action-packed as "Mabeth" and peopled with the same kind of tragically human characters as "Othello", and are just overall amazing little plays! (But of course I would say that, I wrote a BA thesis on them 🤓)
