Must see popular spots around Mt-Fuji in Kawaguchiko

What are the most popular spots to see around Mt-Fuji? Kawaguchiko is a perfect day trip location to wander away from Tokyo.

First, we take you to the famous Chureito Pagoda known for its very scenic view. This beautiful place is located about 7 minutes on foot from Shimoyoshida station. They have a few food trucks in the area if you want to get breakfast before climbing the 398 steps to the top.

Then, we lead you to Honcho street located about 5 minutes from Shimoyoshida station. This spot is known as an instagram favorite for tourists. You will be able to see a stunning view of Mt-fuji from an old, traditional Japanese road.

Afterwards, we headed to Kawaguchiko station. It's about a 20 minutes train ride from Shimoyoshida station. We first stop at a restaurant called --- for lunch. It is run by 2 grandmas and offers delicious Japanese food.

Afterwards, we rented bicycles at ---- . It costs around 1,500 yen per day. You can easily cycle around Lake kawaguchi. There are so many great spots to take pictures of Mt-Fuji.

We first stopped near the popular hotel Kikuna hotel. A night there would cost you around 40,000 yen and we understand why.

Then, we headed to a spot near the Music forest museum on the north side of the lake. It’s great to get food, have a picnic and take amazing pictures of Mt-Fuji.

Our last stop is at a ryokan named “Lava stones” where you can cook meat on actual lava stones harvested from Mt-Fuji itself. We highly recommend staying and eating there.
