Aquarium heaters are sometimes an afterthought when it comes to setting up an aquarium, but it's one piece of equipment that can make or break a tank. Aquarium heaters that fail can be catastrophic to your fish, so we try to stick with a few types/brands that have worked well for us over the years.

We also heat each individual tank since heating a large basement and house wouldn't really be feasible. But if you do have a situation where you could heat the room instead, that would likely be ideal!
