You’ve probably heard the story of David and Goliath in the Bible, but you might not know that it's about far more than underdogs. After humans fell in the Garden of Eden, they came under the power of the serpent, but God promised that someday a man would come who would defeat the serpent by striking its head. When David defeated Goliath by striking and cutting off his head, he prefigured a man who would come and do the same thing to Satan. This man was Jesus, his own descendant, who defeated the power of sin through his own death on a cross.
