Chikkajala Fort ruins, located 25 km outside the city on the way to the airport. While some claim that the site is over 3,000 years old, the odd mixture of styles in the architecture makes it difficult to pin down an accurate timeline. With fort walls enclosing a two-acre land within the bounds, the most well-preserved piece is a Hanuman Temple. Pillars that stand after centuries of decline are arranged around a Kalyani or a pond.
