Hi, Guyz! We will bring you today to Al Qudra Lake and Desert!

During the winter season, camping is a very popular activity for most of the residents in the UAE. The lakes, mountains and of course, the deserts are perfect places for family bonding as it offers a very good area for exploring around and barbeques. Just remember, leave only footprints behind and avoid littering to keep the place clean and beautiful the way it used to be.

A day after Christmas last year, we went for a day camp at Al Qudra Lake to show Tita Kharmela around some parts of Dubai. Our family had seen this area several times during our road trip but never had the chance to stop by for at least a picnic. It was a great day for a barbeque so we packed our things and traveled for more or less 45 minutes from the city of Dubai. We stationed just beside one of the man-made lakes and from there you will find that the gentle blow of the cold wind is very relaxing. Watching some ducks and birds playfully swimming in the water is an amazing scene as well.

When the sun is about to set that day, we decided to visit the nearby Al Qudra Desert. To our surprise, after few minutes of walking, there’s really a lot of beauty just behind those small dusty bushes along the roads. The desert is so beautiful with those sand dunes which leave us with no words to exactly describe how fascinating it is to be there. The sunset is a perfect time to watch how the sand glitters everywhere like gold. It is so tempting to stumble around and play with the sands, which of course, we are not able to resist.

We enjoyed a lot and we obviously didn’t want the day to end that fast!
