Civil Air Patrol (CAP) was formed during the earliest days of World War II as part of the nation's civilian aviation resource for national defense service. Now, as a Total Force partner and Auxiliary of the United States Air Force, CAP is called upon:
To search for and find the lost

CAP has 3 primary missions:
Emergency Services: Perform emergency services for federal, state, and local agencies both in the air and on the ground
Aerospace Education: Award winning program promoting aerospace, aviation, and STEM-related careers
Cadet Programs: Transforms youth into dynamic Americans and aerospace leaders through a curriculum that focuses on leadership, aerospace, fitness and character
